Delrece M.’s Story

My lupus has been well controlled with medications. I’ve been able to travel for vacations and visit family across the country.

Life, in general, has been good. My latest concern has been the development of chronic lung problems. My coughing and breathing continue to deteriorate, and I now require higher amounts of supplemental oxygen. The shortness of breath makes daily activities at home difficult and has restricted my mobility. The scar tissue in my lungs has increased, limiting the oxygen supply to my body.

This has been a long journey, and I wouldn’t trade any of the experiences I’ve had. My faith strengthens and my friendships deepen as I navigate this life.
